[Notification] Request for Printer Firmware Update

Thank you for using Star Micronics Cloud Services. We would like to inform you about the "Request for Printer Firmware Update" to continue using our services. 

 It will be necessary for some printers to update the printer firmware (hereinafter referred to as the firmware) to continue using Star Micronics Cloud Services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we kindly ask that customers who are affected update their firmware. 

[Applicable models] 

TSP100IV: Firmware version less than V3.2 [Link (How to check the version*)] 

TSP100IV SK: Firmware version less than V3.2 [Link (How to check the version*)] 

mC-Print2: Firmware version less than V3.8.2 [Link (How to check the version*)] 

mC-Print3 (except MCP31CI and MCP31CBI): Firmware version less than V3.8.2 [Link (How to check the version*)] 

mC-Print3 (MCP31CI and MCP31CBI): Firmware version less than V5.3 [Link (How to check the version*)] 

*You can check the firmware version by performing a Self-Printing. Please refer to the link above for instructions on how to do a Self-Printing. 

[Affected services]  

For the applicable models and firmware, the following services are no longer available:  

　　- Device Manager API (updating firmware, changing settings)  

　　- PromoPRNT (new registration or change of coupon and schedule settings, and test printing)  

　　- Digital Journal (toggle feature on/off) 

　　- LabelBuilder (printing) *TSP100IV SK only 

The affected service requires multiple server certificates to be registered in the firmware. This issue occurred because one of the certificates is set to expire on May 13, 2025. 

[How to Respond]  

Please update to the latest firmware that removes the expired certificate. When updating, please connect the tablet/smartphone/PC you are using to the target printer and use the utility provided by us. 

Required Firmware Versions  

TSP100IV: Firmware V3.2 or later  

TSP100IV SK: Firmware V3.2 or later 

mC-Print2: Firmware V3.8.2 or later  

mC-Print3 (except MCP31CI and MCP31CBI): Firmware V3.8.2 or later 

mC-Print3 (MCP31CI and MCP31CBI): Firmware V5.3 or later 

How to update via iOS/Android  

1. Download the Utility. 

2. Select the target printer from "Selected Printer." 

3. Select "Printer Settings". 

4. Select "Other - Firmware Update". 

5. Tap on "Update". 

How to update via Windows  

1. Download the Utility from the following link:

2. Establish a connection with the target printer using the "Printer Connection Wizard". 

3. Select "Utility Function - Firmware Update". 

4. Click on "Get from Cloud". 

5. Click on "Update".
