Scope; Third Party Sites.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect at and through the Site. Our Site also contains links to third party sites that are not owned or controlled by Star Micronics. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. Information About You
Our service allows shoppers to gather and store receipts digitally from various retail stores (retailers). We collect and process information about you and your company, including name, address, telephone number, email address, hours of operation, names of staff, type of business, and website/social networking service address, etc. In this regard we also collect and process information about shoppers’ activities and transactions with your company.
If you opt-in and provide your consent, we will share the information we have about you with certain third parties that can provide services to you, such as reports about how you are performing compared to this time last month (or last year), how you are performing compared to other retailers similar to you and how your sales have increased or decreased over a particular period of time. We will only share your information with these third parties if you opt-in through our online dashboard of third party service providers.

Information Collected Through Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) to collect certain information relating to your use of the Site. Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the Site analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. We license and distribute the Shopper mobile app and we provide printer drivers, some Shopper data is stored and managed by us. In addition to the sharing described elsewhere in this policy, we will share information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Star Micronics when we have your consent to do so.

Legal Proceedings
We will share your information with third party companies, organizations or individuals outside of Star Micronics if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

In accordance with this Section 2 in addition to Section 1 (General Privacy Policy), Star Micronics Co., Ltd. (“Star Micronics”, “we” or “us”) may have occasion to collect and process personal data (as defined below). In this Policy, Personal data means any data relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (“Personal data”). Star Micronics may collect and process personal data, including name, address, telephone number, email address and website/social networking service address of a natural person in the EEA.

Star Micronics collect and processes personal data for the following purposes:

  • Legitimate business interests, such as undertaking business research and analysis or managing the operation of the business

While there will not generally be any detrimental effects for the data subjects if they fail to provide their personal data, we may need to collect personal data to process data subjects’ instructions or perform contracts with them.
